Day 921

Hubby always says "close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades". I have to add something else to that.

Close also counts in quilts for kids. After a marathon weekend I came so very close to being finished. All but the bindings. Just look at that stack!

  3. The best kind of stack! I learned to do the glue baste binding method from the Sharon Schamber you tube videos Binding the angel. You glue the whole thing on with Elmer's washable glue, no pins, then sew it on. I sew it to the front, fold to the back. Then I use invisible thread on the front next to the binding, sort of on the ditch, catching the binding on the back which is glued down, no pins. (Bottom line thread in the bobbin shows on the back binding). No hand sewing, no pins. I always wash the quilt before sending because I have cats. The glue comes out. I can do bindings lickedty split, no issues. Bindings now are a non issue for me. I don't know if I explained clearly.
