Today we have a chubby Mrs. Quail (or is it a Mr. Quail?) and Mr. Pheasant. I don't know what we're doing to attract all these folks, but I'm not complaining.

Day 414
I think our yard has become some sort of a playground this year. Every morning it's either the ducks or the squirrels or the quail or even the pheasant. Every morning some kind of creature is hanging around our yard.
Today we have a chubby Mrs. Quail (or is it a Mr. Quail?) and Mr. Pheasant. I don't know what we're doing to attract all these folks, but I'm not complaining.

How fun to see all those critters! We have a small swimming pool in our backyard and we cover it with a tarp for the winter. A couple inches of rain water collects on top of it and for the past three years, each spring the same pair of ducks (we assume) come and land in it and swim around. The girls love to toss them litle pieces of bread and I like that they eat all the bugs in the rain water. My oldest daughter wasn't too happy yesterday morning though, when at 5:15am the female duck was quacking non-stop until the male finally flew in and joined her! - Lisa
